About the Oxford English Dictionary Online

Ever thought that the 'shorter' Oxford English dictionary (or OED for short) was still pretty big? Well the full Oxford English dictionary consists of 20 Volumes. Not surprising perhaps when you consider that it is not only words and their meanings which are listed but also their origins. This is also the case with the OED online, except of course that online the OED is updated every three months and is of course a lot less heavy. It is available in every Westminster library and also to anyone with a Westminster library card outside the library.
