Bookstart

Bookstart works through locally based organisations to give three free packs of books to babies and children 3 years and under with guidance materials for parents and carers. More about Bookstart and how to get your child's free books.
 

Babies, toddlers and books

  • Reading to children helps them to learn communication and language skills.
  • Babies and toddlers can be introduced to new experiences and situations through books.
  • Reading to babies and toddlers sets a pattern for when they are older, so that they will grow up believing that reading is an enjoyable experience
