Bookstart is the first, national books-for-babies programme in the world and is delivered through the Public Library service.
Bookstart works through locally based organisations to give three free packs of books to babies and children 3 years and under with guidance materials for parents and carers. It is based on the premise that children who have an early introduction to books benefit educationally, culturally, socially and emotionally.

The Bookstart Book Crawl is a fantastic scheme for children 0-4 years. Children collect stickers when they take out books and then exchange them for a certificate.
