Activities & events for children

Libraries are great places for babies, children, young adults, parents and carers. You can find resources for fun and education, leisure and learning.

We have over 130,000 children's books, videos, music and story tapes in our libraries for you to choose from, all in safe surroundings with friendly staff to help you.

Find out what's on in your local library - for children and adults - by visiting the News & events section.

You can also find project and homework information in books you can borrow and on the computers that you can use in the library. You can join a Homework Club and use our Webtastic websites for homework help.

Under Fives sessions are held weekly, with stories and rhymes for the children and the chance for the grown-ups to meet others in the same boat. You'll also find Parents' collections covering all aspects of family life, to help you sort out or avoid problems.

There are regular events for children during term time, and special events held in the school holidays. Every year we hold a Summer reading scheme and other holiday activities - competitions and story telling fun - all children are welcome to join in.

Contact your local library for details of forthcoming activities, or visit our News & events section.

Westminster libraries are open to anyone to join and adults can borrow items for children. Ask in any Westminster library for full information on how to join or details on anything mentioned in these pages.
