Emergency works for heating

If your heating or hot water system breaks down in the Winter months (October to March) and you are aged 60 or over or have a child who resides with you aged 15 or less you may be eligible for emergency repairs. You also need to be in receipt of one or more state benefits or on a low income (as listed and defined in the Council’s detailed policy). The Council’s home improvement agency will engage a contractor to attempt to repair your heating/hot water system provided that the cost of repairs is no more than £1,000.
