About us

Welcome to Westminster’s Children's Services Department.

This department has been created as Westminster’s response to a national programme of reform that aims to transform the way in which services are delivered to children, young people and their families.

The new department incorporates; Children’s Social Services and Education, together under one umbrella. We also work in partnership with health services and the voluntary sector.

As Westminster’s programme for change develops we need to make sure that all contributors and stakeholders are properly informed, and have the opportunity to help design how services will look in the future. This includes involving and consulting children and young people, their parents and carers, staff at all levels and partners from schools and the private, voluntary and statutory sectors.

In this area you will find information on social care services for children and young people. These services aim to provide support to children, young people and their families who are in need. We are here to help and wherever possible we aim to provide services to allow children and young people to stay with their families.

For more information on how to access services go to the family support page.

For more information on the changes happening to children’s services in Westminster go to the ‘Change for Children’ area.
