Transport for Older and Disabled People
If you are older or have a disability, you may be able to get help with transport costs. This could include a Freedom Pass if you are able to use public transport, or a Taxicard if you are not. There are certain eligibility criteria for both of these.
If you are over 60, you can apply for a Freedom Pass at your local Post Office. This scheme is open to all residents with proof of age and residency. Application forms are available at the Post Office. If you are under 60 with a disability, you should contact the transport section at Westminster City Council to discuss whether you are eligible for either of these services.
The transport section at Westminster City Hall can advise you on the Freedom Pass and Taxicard application process. Tel 020 7641 2266 Also, see their WebPages for more general information on how to contact and accessible Transport
If you are eligible, the Freedom Pass is free. The Taxicard does not cost anything to apply for, but there is a reduced rate fare to pay if you do get one, and a limited amount of journeys.
