Rehabilitation

What is rehabilitation?

The Westminster Rehabilitation Service (WRS) provides short-term intensive and longer term rehabilitation. Our goals are to prevent people from going into hospital and to help people leave hospital as well as assist people to remain in their own homes with a good quality of life for as long as possible, the majority of whom are housebound. We see people who are over the age of 16.
This service consists of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, dietetics and podiatry, injury prevention for carers, rheumatology specialist, neurology team, clinical psychology, a pharmacist, a nurse and rehabilitation assistants.
There is also Norton House, which is an 8-bedded unit for intensive Intermediate Care for older people for up to 6 weeks.

The service works in close partnership with social services, voluntary organisations, local secondary care providers and the local community for the best outcomes for our service users.

How do I get it?

You can contact the Westminster Rehabilitation Service directly to discuss your situation and they will assess whether they are able to help or not and tell you what is involved. If they cannot assist, they should be able to advise you how else to get help. Tel: 020 7641-4001
If you think you have other needs as well, they will put you in touch with the appropriate person or service.

If you need any other form of rehabilitation, you should contact the Westminster Primary Care Trust
