Every Older Person Matters promise launch

We recently launched the Every Older Person Matters pledge, with the help of Denise Ramsay-Overall, an international athlete and future Olympian. Denise, a talented weightlifter, who has competed at high profile sporting events such as the Commonwealth Games, is passionate about health and well being. As well as training for her own sport, Denise leads several Westminster exercise classes developed especially for older people. All Westminster residents aged 65 plus are entitled to discounted rates at council owned leisure centres across the borough.

Keep alert: spot the rogues

Westminster’s trading standards team is helping older residents to spot and deal with rogue traders.

A leaflet is being distributed across the city. It highlights common scams and how to recognise them. A handy door sticker reminds residents how best to deal with doorstep callers.
