Westminster City Council is working hard to create a better street environment for everyone. Our first objective is to deliver clean, tidy streets throughout the City, 365 days of the year.
A core part of our work is educating and campaigning to change people's behaviour and attitudes towards the street environment. We need everyone to adopt a responsible attitude towards their own rubbish. This work is covered by our Big City Big Clean Up programme which includes specific campaigns such as the ongoing Don't Dump campaign.
In 2003 our efforts to deliver Clean Streets in Westminster were recognised through the achievement of the title "Britain's Cleanest City". This accolade is a testament to our efforts and determination to deliver Clean Streets despite the huge challenges we face. We are continuing to innovate and implement new initiatives as part of our Clean Streets programme.
