The Savile Row strategic group

Savile Road is world famous for traditional bespoke tailoring with a community of over 100 tailors working side-by-side.

Rising rents and business rates, along with the changing nature of the row, have posed a threat to the tailors’ livelihoods.

The council has listened to concerns raised by those working on Savile Row and together they have come up with ideas to revitalise bespoke tailoring.

To take these ideas forward, the council is leading the Savile Row Strategic Group that brings together tailors and landlords.

One task will be to review Westminster's existing planning policy and offer guidance to support the bespoke tailoring industry and safeguard Savile Row's unique character.
