The council wants to promote a genuinely wider regeneration scheme for the entire Berwick Street site.
The main aims of new proposals will be to make the area cleaner and safer, to encourage the return of independent retailers and to formulate a long-term vision for the market's success.
In 2007, the council adopted a planning brief for Berwick Street. The brief will help inform the way future development in the area should be considered.
This Planning Brief seeks to guide development in the site bounded by Berwick Street, Peter Street, Broadwick Street and Ingestre Place by setting out the planning framework and other material considerations for this large site in the center of Soho, which contains the following buildings/uses:
