Bond Street Eastern Ticket Hall Planning Brief

Crossrail: Bond St Station – Eastern Ticket Hall 18-19, Hanover Square, W1

Crossrail: Bond Street Station, Eastern Ticket Hall 18-19 Hanover Square Draft Planning Brief for consultation July 2008

Background
The council has prepared a series of draft planning briefs for the key sites in Westminster that will be affected by Crossrail.  Their aim is to set out the relevant policies and issues relating to the sites and to seek to obtain the promoters’ of Crossrail, Cross London Rail Links Limited (CLRL), agreement to incorporate these matters into their proposals.

This brief considers the existing physical characteristics of the site and the surrounding area and sets out the City Council’s planning policies, guidelines and constraints with regard to the future redevelopment of the site, and sets out the Counci’s requirements for the management of the construction of Crossrail Line 1 to ensure that the impacts on Hanover Square are kept to a minimum.  It was consulted on for six weeks from 4th August 2008.  Comments received are being taken in to account when developing a revised version of the brief.  It is anticipated that a final draft will be reported back to the Committee in 2009 for their agreement to adopt it as a Supplementary Planning Document.

The Crossrail Bill received Royal Assent on 22nd July 2008 and is therefore now an Act of Parliament.
