Core Strategy - Preferred Options Consultation

What is your vision for Westminster?
What should it look like in the future?

This is your chance to tell us!
Have your say now, and help shape your city.

We officially consulted on our ‘preferred options’ until the 30th September 2008.

If you missed this date but would like us to come and talk to your group / organisation, or for more information please email ldf@westminster.gov.uk or telephone (020) 7641 2387.

Westminster’s Core Strategy will guide change and development over the next 20 years.  This new policy document will be used to determine planning applications, but it is also wider than that – setting out the Council’s priorities and linking together with the plans and strategies of the Council and our partners such as the Primary Care Trust and the Police.

The Core Strategy will include:

  • Areas where different land uses will be focussed – including shops, homes, offices, and community facilities.
  • Our priorities for transport, parks, public spaces and tall buildings.
  • Our plans on how to make sure what we build today will serve us into the future – taking account of climate change.
  • Our plans on making places that are attractive and easy to use for everyone.
  • Our plans to deal with noise and air pollution, and entertainment uses.
  • Our plans to protect and improve what is special about Westminster.

This is your chance to let us know what you think of our preferred approach, and to help shape the future of Westminster.
