HistoryWhitehall Gardens - Victoria Embankment.

Opened in 1870 the gardens stretch parallel with the Victoria Embankment. There are three statues located down the centre line of the garden and these are William Tynedale, Sir Henry Bartle Frere and General Sir James Outram.

The picture on the right is how the garden looked when it was first opened.

In 2000 the gardens won a Millennium Award to carry out works to improve the shrubs within the gardens. This is marked by a plaque located next to the entrance from Northumberland Avenue.
