Westminster’s Parks Service has been awarded thirteen green flag awards for 2008Westminster Parks Service is please to confirm that we have been awarded thirteen Green Flags for 2008/09. It is especially pleasing to have gained another Green Flag for a cemetery. Mill Hill Cemetery now joins East Finchley Cemetery as one of only a few cemeteries that have so far been awarded one.

What are the Green Flag Awards?
The Green Flag Award Scheme is run by The Civic Trust and is intended to be the benchmark against which the quality of public parks and green spaces can be measured. It also recognises the diversity and value of green space to the local community.
The Park, Garden or Green Space is judged against 8 criteria which cover everything from access through to sustainability and marketing. Listed below are the eight assessment criteria:
