The school term and holiday dates for 2009-10 for Nursery, Primary, Secondary and Special Schools have now been set. Westminster has adopted dates recommended by London Councils (formerly the ALG) which standardises the school year across London. There is a core 190 teaching days around which 4 professional development (INSET) days can be set and one more to be arranged through flexible arrangements by schools.
The dates are arranged in six terms with the three traditional terms divided into two terms each. Voluntary Aided Schools and Academies set their own dates but have been invited to follow the LA pattern as far as possible. Please click on the link below for any variation for individual schools.
