Apply online - information for parents

A pupil at schoolWestminster City Council is working in conjunction with the 32 other London boroughs and London Connects, to enable parents to apply for school places online. If you wish to continue to apply using a paper form, you will be able to do so. However there are many benefits of applying online which include:

  • a quicker process - you will be able to track the progress of your application.
  • quicker feedback on the results of your application more quickly.
  • Reducing the use of paper.
  • the opportunity to apply from any location with Internet access 24hrs a day 7 days a week up until the closing date.

How do I apply online?

As with paper applications, you will only be able to apply for a school place online from September 2008. For secondary school places (Year 7) you can apply online from 1st September 2008 to 24th October 2008 and for primary school places (reception class) from 1st September 2008 to 2nd March 2009.

What if I don’t have a computer at home, can I still apply online?

Yes, you can apply anywhere with access to the Internet. There are lots of places where you can apply online:

  • Your local library
  • At work
  • An Internet café
  • You can also ask a friend or relative for help 

When will I find out about my application?

For transfer to secondary school applicants, the Admissions Team will write to inform all parents the outcome of their secondary school applications on 2nd March 2009. If you have applied online, you can view the outcome of your application from 7.00am on 3rd March 2009.

For primary school applicants, the Admissions Team will write to inform all parents the outcome of their applications on 8th May 2009. If you have applied online, you can view the outcome of your application from 7.00am on 9th May 2009.
