Westminster has a new duty to secure sufficient childcare to enable parents to work, or to undertake education and training leading to work, this came into effect on 1st April 2008.
In preparation, the City Council conducted an analysis of childcare supply across the early years sector in Westminster.
The resulting report draws partly on data held by Ofsted on registered provision, and partly from the analysis of responses to questionnaires sent to registered and non-registered childcare providers across Westminster. These findings will help Westminster to develop strategies that ensure it meets childcare sufficiency requirements across the City.

Childcare Consultation with Parents and Providers of Childcare.
Westminster City Council is working towards developing a diverse local childcare market that reflects the preferences and needs of all its families: whether they have children aged 0 to 5 years, or children of a school age who are looking to take part in out of school activities.
Do your children attend a childcare setting in Westminster, or do you work for one of the childcare providers in Westminster? If so, we would like to collect your views of the childcare available here. Please help us get a better picture of your needs by completing one of the two questionnaires available.
We have prepared two online questionnaires, one for parents and one for providers, which you can access below.
