Lowering emissions

Emissions from cars and other vehicles on our roads contribute to global warming and climate change.

However, alternatively fuelled vehicles are becoming more and more popular and affordable. Run on gas or electricity, they produce the lowest emission levels on the road.

The other benefits of alternatively fuelled vehicles are:

  • No congestion charge
  • Free parking in central London (vehicles solely powered by electricity only)
  • Reduced vehicle excise duty


People who live or work in Westminster get these additional benefits:

  • Recharging at Westminster recharging points 
  • Membership of the EcoMark club
  • Free resident parking in Westminster for qualifying vehicles (residents only).
