Canvasser Recruitment

Would you like to help with the democratic process and earn some money?

Westminster are recruiting canvassers to assist with electoral registration.

The role of canvasser requires people to visit properties in an area allocated to them and to return to us completed electoral registration forms for each of these properties.

Evening and weekend visits to properties are part and parcel of the canvass process, and canvassers will need to manage their own time. The canvass starts in late September and continues through October and November. Potential canvassers will also need to be available for training, which begins in early September.

The right candidate will...

  1. be tactful, polite and professional on the doorstep. You will be representing Westminster to the people you meet.
  2. possess excellent communication skills. Westminster has both high profile residents and many for whom English is a second language.
  3. have a keen eye for detail. The work you are doing is very important.
  4. be reliable. You will need to make regular visits to the Elections Office.
  5. be physically fit. The job can involve visiting a large number of properties, some of which are not easily accessible.
  6. be eligible to work in the UK.
