Resources and Corporate Services P and S Committee

The Committee’s main role is to examine the provision of a wide-range of Council services, including Finance, Human Resources, Administration and Customer Services. The Committee operates in a similar manner to a House of Commons Select Committee, making recommendations for improvement to service providers and sharing best practice. Key strategic issues are considered at each meeting of the Committee and separate task groups scrutinise issues in more detail. Councillor Mark Page is the Chairman of the Committee.

Key work areas include:

  • The general policies and strategies for the Council’s financial practices and procedures, as well as in-year financial monitoring and reviewing priorities and budget options for future years.
  • Scrutinising the management of the Council’s property assets
  • The provision of Customer Services by the City Council
  • Internal programmes to improve efficiency

The Committee can establish task groups to look at certain issues in more detail.
