Non-Executive Committees

Some committees and sub-committees discharge a range of non-executive functions which have been delegated to them, as outlined in the constitution. These mainly relate to licensing and planning applications and individual staffing matters.

General Purposes Committee

The General Purposes Committee is composed of 10 members of the Council. It is responsible for various matters including the scheme of allowances for Council Members; the Council's Health and Safety functions; elections and electoral registration; approval of the Council's statement of accounts; and, any review of the Constitution.
