The council is made up of 60 locally elected councillors, including the Lord Mayor, who make decisions on how to provide local services on behalf of local people.

Decisions are made by democratic bodies, including the full Council, the Cabinet and committees that councillors are appointed to.

Key decisions that the Council plans to make in the coming months are published in the Council’s Forward Plan of key decisions.

The Council’s Constitution describes the ways the Council operates, including the Council’s processes, and codes of conduct and rules.
