10 Quick Resident parking Questions

Westminster City council suspect increasing numbers of non-residents have been able to obtain a permit in recent years. We hope these changes will help to prevent abuse of the scheme and free up more parking space for residents whose sole or main residency is in Westminster.

Yes, you may request to be included on the list but you would not be eligible to vote till you became 18 years old.

If you live on an estate within Westminster City council you may apply to your Estate office for a housing estate parking permit. You may also apply for an on-street resident parking permit, so long as you meet the stated criteria for this scheme.

This is the only way we can make sure that only residents whose sole or main residence within Westminster receive resident permits.

The four week renewal period has been set to allow residents sufficient time for documents to be changed. All the documents required can be obtained within the time limit.

Westminster Council reviews the cost of the permit on an annual basis. We believe that £105 represents excellent value for a permit.

It is possible to alter copied documents. Only the original documents can prove genuine residency

This is because an applicant must demonstrate at the time of application that they still meet the criteria for a permit as their circumstances could easily have changed by the time of renewal.
