Report a Fraud

The City of Westminster takes fraud against it seriously and wants to hear what you have to say.  You can now raise your concerns regarding suspected fraud or corruption within or against the City of Westminster immediately by completing and submitting the form below. Your completed form will be directed to the Council’s specialist fraud team for attention.

We ask for as much information as you can provide to enable effective investigation into your allegation(s). All information you provide will be treated in the strictest confidence.  You may remain anonymous.

Calls to this number are treated in the strictest confidence and you may remain anonymous. Outside normal office hours an answer phone message can be left.

Here are some examples of the types of fraud that investigators at the Council are interested in knowing about.

Housing Benefits

You may know or suspect that a benefit claimant

  • is working but has not told the Council about their income
  • is sub-letting the property at which they claim benefits and are living elsewhere
  • owns property or has assets that have not been declared to the Council
  • has not told the City Council about someone else living in their home
  • is not claiming in their true identity

Residents Parking Permits / Disabled Badges

You may know or suspect that

  • a residents parking permit has been obtained illegally
  • a forged parking permit or disabled badge is being used
  • a blue or white disabled badge is being misused

Housing

You may know or suspect someone who

  • has applied to the Council as homeless but have somewhere to live
  • is not living at their Council property (may be sub – letting or applying for the right to buy)
  • has obtained the right to buy but does not qualify
  • has obtained Council Housing using a false identity

Internal 

You may know or suspect staff or contractors working for the Council who

  • have acted fraudulently by stealing or otherwise misappropriating Council assets 
  • have used their position unlawfully to obtain a financial or other advantage
  • remain on sick leave but are working elsewhere
