About the Community Protection Department

The Community Protection department exists to give excellent service by improving safety, quality of life and standards of health in Westminster. The department was created in 2002 by combining existing services to improve customer contact and improve our ability to provide a prompt response at any time of the day and night from highly trained people.

The Community Protection department is made up of:

• CivicWatch
• 24 Hour Operations
• City Guardian Wardens Service
• Fixed and Mobile CCTV Systems
• Crime and Disorder Reduction
• Commercial Environment - Consultation, Premises Licensing & Environmental Sciences, Food, Health & Safety
• Residential, Environment & Trading Standards - Housing Inspections, Pest Control & Mortuary, Trading Standards
