This year’s Chinese Masterchef now in its fifth year was a great success as in previous years. The competition took place at the Westminster Kingsway Catering College and was open to all Chinese chefs and restaurants in Westminster.
The Awards were handed out by the Lord Mayor of Westminster Cllr Louise Hyams and Cllr Xu Lin from the Embassy of the Peoples Republic of China.
Entrants were judged on their skill, creativity, originality and standards of food hygiene.

Dim Sum Competition:
The event was attended by over 350 spectators who had the opportunity to watch the chefs cooking in the competition, culinary demonstrations, Chinese entertainment including sugar flower sculpting, a lion dance and noodle pulling. The day’s entertainment also included a workshop by West Midlands born vegetable carver artist Yeu-Lai Mo.
This year's judges were: Nancy Lam; William Poon; Head Chef of Chinese Embassy; Gary Hunter, Head of Culinary Arts, Kingsway College; Emma White, Caterer and Hotelkeeper Magazine; Edmun Lau, Senior Business Development Manager, Lee Kum Kee; Steve Munkley, Executive Chef, Royal Garden Hotel.
