6. Support in giving up

Public places going smoke freeFree help is available if you and your staff want to give up or are interested in finding out about giving up smoking. Westminster Primary Care Trust’s stop smoking service holds workplace group support sessions.

Specialist advisors run the sessions, which:

  • last for six weeks
  • include time to prepare for a quit date
  • give information and advice on choosing a medication to help with quitting.

One-to-one support is also available. Westminster can supply posters and leaflets advertising their service if you’d like to add them to your staff room.

Westminster PCT’s Stop Smoking Service is one of the most successful NHS services in London, having helped more than 3,500 people quit in the past three years.
