Market trader of the year 2007
Following over 400 nominations that you sent in for your favourite traders across Westminster, we are proud to announce that the winner of Westminster’s Market Trader of the Year 2007 is Ian Keene.

Ian has been working at his fish and seafood stall at Berwick Street market for over 40 years. He has been recognised by the community and his colleagues for his ‘excellent service’ and ‘fabulous produce always served with good cheer and smile’. Other comments from his customers were:
“Fishmongering is a hard, cold long job, yet provides the best of food. Ian Keene is always there with his fresh produce and has always been kind, knowledgeable and generous.”
“I have been buying fish from him for more than 20 years and he has always been cheerful, friendly and extremely obliging - no matter what the weather conditions.”
Judging
The 6 finalists’ stalls were judged on their presentation, quality of goods and customer service by the judging panel – Councillor Audrey Lewis - Cabinet Member for Community Protection and Licensing, Joe Harrison - President of the National Market Traders’ Federation, and Mark Impleton - Market Trader of the Year 2006.
The other five finalists were:
